The NeuroChaos Brain Health Program is vital for every athlete and parent
A comprehensive Brain Health Program is the best way to help your child in the event of brain injury. You wouldn't let your child play sports without protective gear or without ensuring they know the best ways to prevent injury. Participating in a comprehensive Brain Health Program is as fundamental to your child's involvement in sports as pads and helmets.
Physicians and athletic trainers rely on objective testing to provide the highest quality of care. The NeuroChaos Brain Health Program is used successfully by clinicians managing athletes with head injury as they guide their patients through decisions on returning to the classroom and normal physical activity.

What is the NeuroChaos Brain Health Test ?
The athlete will be asked to lay down and relax - no effort or trying is required
Ultrasound probes are placed on the temples and positioned to capture blood flow measurements
Five minutes of data is recorded while the patient is resting
Data is electronically saved so you can direct the results to the healthcare provider of choice

The NeuroChaos Brain Health Test is an advanced ultrasound examination of the blood flowing through the main artery of the brain. The exam assesses how the brain is regulating the blood flow, which is critical to proper brain function. The test is non-invasive, lasts about 10 minutes while the patient is at rest, and is conducted by a certified professional.

COMMON TEST NAMES
Why do I need more than one baseline test?
When a patient suffers a brain injury, several biological systems are affected, which may lead to a variety of symptoms. Clinicians have developed tests to help quantify changes to these symptoms so they can better understand the effect of the injury and to guide them on when it is safe for the patient to return to normal activities. Each concussion patient is unique and their symptoms or the effect on their biological systems may vary. That is why it is important to include all of the baseline tests in a comprehensive brain health program.
BASELINE TESTS
Blood Flow Regulation
The ability to maintain a constant flow of blood to the brain under changing conditions
Cognition
10-minute ultrasound examination of the blood flowing through the brain arteries. No athlete involvement.
NeuroChaos
Attention span, working memory, problem solving, reaction time
30-minute computer test where athlete completes a series of questions and tasks. Athlete must be properly motivated.
ImPact®, Axon
Balance or Vestibular
The ability to maintain proper balance
A protocol that involves balancing on one or two feet, with eyes closed, and on hard or soft surfaces. Athlete must be properly motivated.
NeuroCom®
Proper concussion care starts before the season begins. Baseline testing determines how your child’s brain functions when it is healthy.
This is critical because if an injury occurs, the physician will have an understanding of what is normal for your child, and they can repeat the test during the recovery period to aid them in determining when it is appropriate for your child to return to normal activities like school or sports.

Post Trauma: Tests occur at regular intervals to monitor recovery
Baseline: Preseason test that indicates normal brain behavior
What is a baseline test and why do I need it?
A baseline test measures the current condition of the patient and is used as a foundation for measuring or comparing future values. Baseline testing is particularly important to athletes exposed to contact because a concussion is a closed head injury and is not visible using traditional imaging technologies like CT or MRI scans.
